Why am I seeing a 404 error message?
It is most common to see a 404 error page when you requested a page or media images via your browser which does not exist. This does not always mean that the site visitor has done something wrong – it could be that the server could not process the request.
If you are the webmaster there is a couple of things you could do.
- Start investigating the error by looking if the file or images requested is still on the server.
- Have you moved the file or renamed it? –
- You can point the broken link to useful content by adding a redirect on the link.
- Or take the opportunity and monetize the 404 page.
