Bad news for Airbnb abusers pushing up house prices in top South African city
The City of Cape Town is proposing a new by-law to better enforce property rates on premises that claim to be used primarily for permanent residence while operating as accommodation businesses.
The city says the incoming Proposed Short-Term Letting By-law intends to make it harder for these operators to “game the system.”
