One thing stopping eight-year driving licences in South Africa
The Department of Transport is working to extend South Africa’s driving licence validity period from five to eight years, but there is one thing holding it up: the issue of lost revenue.
Speaking to Cape Talk, department spokesperson Collen Msibi said the only step left is the cost-benefit analysis for the Driving Licence Card Account (DLCA), which is responsible for producing the cards.
