First plug-in hybrid under R500,000 in South Africa
BYD’s upcoming Sealion 5 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) will be priced from R499,900 in South Africa, MyBroadband has learnt from well-placed industry sources.
The Sealion 5 is a new compact SUV that has only been rolled out to a handful of markets outside China. It features a single front-mounted electric motor with a peak output of 145kW and 300Nm torque.
