Cape Town wants high-tech cameras to nail people texting while driving
The City of Cape Town wants to roll out artificial intelligence (AI) powered cameras to detect motorists who aren’t wearing their seatbelts or are on their mobile phones while driving.
The metro has already trialled the system and issued fines to motorists. However, these fines were challenged and overturned.
