Truecaller warning from South Africa’s biggest bank
Fraudsters in South Africa are spoofing their caller IDs to impersonate banks and authorities, such as the South African Police Service (SAPS), to scam victims.
This is according to the head of financial crime at Capitec, Nick Harris, who said caller verification apps like Truecaller aren’t much help in identifying spoofed caller IDs.
