The Spar supermarket in a small town that is kissing Eskom goodbye
A Spar supermarket in Ladybrand, a town in the Free State near the Lesotho border, has installed a solar power system with 506kW peak capacity that it says is helping it achieve significant electricity savings.
“The reason I did the solar installation was to stabilise electricity consumption, which is one of the most significant expenses in my books,” said Ladybrand Spar owner Julian De Freitas.
