Say goodbye to the South African driving licence card as you know it
Transport minister Barbara Creecy says that South Africans can soon expect to see a new type of driving licence card. In the long term, driving licences will be digital and linked to individuals’ ID documents.
This comes after the Pretoria High Court handed down a declaratory order setting aside the appointment of Idemia as the preferred bidder for South Africa’s driving licence printer tender.
