Afrikaans e-hailing service Wanatu is changing drivers’ compensation structures as part of a broader restructuring of its operating model and is revamping its app to address users’ pain points.
Unlike drivers contracted with Uber and Bolt, whose earnings are based on the number of trips they complete and the distance they travel, Wanatu employs its drivers and pays them a guaranteed basic monthly salary.
