Speed limits in South Africa versus the world
Government officials have blamed high speed limits in South Africa for the carnage on the country’s roads. However, our speed limits align quite well with the rest of the world, including some first-world nations.
While it has been dead silent on the topic since, the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) proposed a blanket speed limit reduction of 10km/h in February 2022.
